This timely conference will join students from across health professions with experts in the field to share insights as to how we can achieve truly universal care for all patients.

Learn about problems in the present system and current bills being debated in Congress from these six outstanding experts and speakers:

  • Michael Lighty, Director of Public Policy for CNA /NNOC (California Nurses Association and National Nurses Organizing Committee), will discuss our nation's attempts at providing universal care, the public option and make a case for single payer.
  • Sara Rogers, Senior Health Policy Consultant to Senator Mark Leno, will explain SB 810, which would create a single-payer system in California.
  • Claudia Chaufan, MD, PhD Assistant Professor of Sociology and Health Policy, UCSF, will examine solutions for universal care in the international community.

As a future health care provider, it is important to take time to learn about the systems that affect your patients and your job satisfaction. Remember:  “ACT LOCAL. THINK UNIVERSAL”
